THE story of transport in the Lake District had always been dominated by mountain passes and river crossings.
How bridges have featured in Lakeland's history will feature in a talk at Coniston on Monday, January 23.
Former Lakes historic buildings officer Andy Lowe will be the guest speaker at the Coniston Local History Group.
The talk is from 2.30pm in the Reading Room at Coniston Institute on Yewdale Road.
