Mystery mine picture WALTER JOHNSTON
WE are hoping that readers may be able to identify the location of this mine photograph with its traditional pit head wheel.
It was taken in the 1950s or 1960s and was sent in by Walter Johnston, of Yarlside Road, Barrow.
It is likely to be an iron ore mine in Furness, Hodbarrow at Millom, or in the Egremont and Cleator area of West Cumberland.
