JOHNNIE and Penny have become inseparable friends after the little girl kitten squeezed her way under the door into her friend’s cage.

Penny has now really latched on to Johnnie and although their carers were happy to rehome them separately, they would now like them to go together.

Johnnie, a healthy and young grown male, enjoys eight-week-old Penny’s company and is very protective of her.

He is a lovely laid back character and it is so nice to see them together.

Johnnie is so relaxed and has such an endearing nature that he is in the kitten room with Penny and is not bothered by them at all.

He just watches as they play around, jumping all over him and he was like that even when a full Tom, but now he has been neutured.

The two had a similar start to life because Johnnie came into the shelter as a stray while little Penny was found in a garden.

Their carers in the shelter came in in the morning to find the two cuddled up together although they look more timid in their picture here because they did not like the flash of the camera.

They can be rehomed separately but are enjoying each others company in the shelter.

Magic almost never stays still or at least not for more than a few seconds being a typical healthy kitten.

With his white paws, chest and tummy he is a very pretty little boy.

Poor Magic was bought as a birthday present by a mother for her daughter, but unfortunately she turned out to be allergic to cat fur and so he has ended up in the care of the charity Animal Welfare.

He, along with Johnnie and Penny, is in the charity’s shelter in Rawlinson Street, Barrow.

Edith came to the charity in a very bad state with lots of scabs after being found near a busy road.

Thankfully she has made a full recovery and is now in perfect health.

She loves playing with the other kittens and is pure black.

The shelter has only one last feral kitten although after much care and attention this black kitten is no longer feral and enjoys being patted and receiving attention.

For further details or to arrange a visit to see the cats please call the shelter on 01229 836955 or call into Animal Welfare.
