AT the moment kittens keep coming into the care of animal charities finding themselves homeless through no fault of their own.

This happens no matter how much time and money charities and animal welfare organisations spend on campaigning to try to educate people about the importance of getting their pets spayed or neutered.

At Animal Welfare, Rawlinson Street, Barrow, they have new tiny furry faces in even before they have found good loving homes for the kittens they already have.

To no-one’s surprise they are in all different colours from black, to black and white, tabby, gingers and an amazing mixture of shades.

They all need permanent homes where they will be wanted and loved just as much in adulthood as they were when they were kittens.

Recently the charity has had a couple of people who have brought back kittens because they have been too lively, even though they have been warned about how active they are.

It is important people realise that cute little kittens love to play, get into trouble and can cause a fair bit of havoc in a household. If you don’t want that then a kitten is not for you.

The charity has kittens from six weeks onwards in need of forever homes to those under a year.

The shelter is also caring for young cats such as Sasha who, at only eight months old, came into care with her three kittens.

They have now all been rehomed, but Sasha also needs and deserves a place to call her own.

This beautiful black cat purrs a lot and is very friendly and loving.
