VICTORIAN author, artist and social visionary John Ruskin made Coniston his home in later life.
His house at Brantwood overlooks Coniston Water and is now a popular visitor attraction surrounded by landscaped grounds.
The history of the Brantwood gardens is the subject for a talk by Ron Ward on Wednesday, September 28.
He is speaking to members and visitors of the Duddon Valley History Society.
It meets from 7.30pm in the Rankin Room of Broughton Victory Hall.
