AMY Winehouse fans packed out a Furness venue at the weekend for a spectacular first performance of a local live tribute band.

Barrow singer Becki Fishwick took on the persona of the late star for the show at The Nines on Saturday, joined on stage by the cream of South Cumbrian musicians.

The sell-out success of this debut show has already set the wheels in motion for further similar events later in the year.

Becki said: "The night was a great success and we filled The Nines. There was a fantastic atmosphere with many singing along to the Amy classics, lots of dancing and people loved the fact it was so similar to Amy and a great tribute to her memory.

"I wore a very large wig specially made by Jodie Rodden, which got a lot of great comments too!

"We raised £200 from programme sales and donations on the night for the Amy Winehouse Foundation, and they are delighted with the evening.

"A video of the night is being edited, and will be available to buy soon, and we are planning more dates soon too."
