THE Grange Hotel wanted a cast iron gazebo in its grounds, Grange councillors were told.

YOUNGSTERS in the Barrow ABC Minors club for cinema fans held a Go-Go dancing contest. Around 800 juniors, aged from five to 14, cheering as the finalists danced to hit records such as Puppet on a String. The winner was Ann Magee, of Brook Street.

THREE drivers were each fined £2 by Barrow magistrates' for parking their vehicles on streets overnight without lights.
