A modern detached house at Hazel Croft Gardens, Ulverston, was offered for sale at £325,000. A terraced house in Market Street, Millom, was £110,000.

TV hypnotist Andrew Newton packed out Barrow's Forum 28 for his popular stage show. He convinced volunteers they were Elvis or a belly dancer.
