A CALENDAR for 2017 is being sold to raise funds for the church restoration fund at Millom and will be available at a Wednesday, November 30, history talk from 7pm in St James' School.
The St Francis of Assisi Parish Calendar costs £5 and has views for each month which feature the historic buildings and landscape beauty of the area covered by the two Roman Catholic churches in the parish – Our Lady and St James at Millom and Sacred Heart at Coniston.
The calendars are also on sale in both churches and at the Millom Discovery Centre and at Ashburners, in Wellington Street, Millom.
All the pictures are the work of local photographer Barry Chapman and cover an area from Silecroft to Tarn Hows.
The cover features the Victorian stone lighthouse and lagoon on the former mine workings at Hodbarrow iron ore mines.
February shows the power of a winter storm at Haverigg, July has a view from Sacred Heart Church, Coniston and August has a look across the flower beds to Millom war memorial and the former police station.
