IRISH stand-up star Jason Byrne will be returning to Cumbria later this year, with a Kendal date on his latest UK tour.

His new show, Jason Byrne is Propped Up, comes to the Brewery Arts Centre on Friday October 21.

Following his hugely successful 2015 tour, he is bringing back his warmth and generous stagecraft with even more props and silly humour.

On his last tour of the UK and Ireland he re-introduced his prop comedy, mixed with his stand-up and audience participation. It was a huge success and audiences loved it.

They wanted more silly props: more giant ducks, more rubber hands, owls, big wooden pegs and amazing magic stunts.

Jason Byrne Is Propped Up’ will open at Lincoln’s Comedy Festival on October 1, arriving in South Cumbria three weeks later, before wrapping up in Belfast in December.

On announcing the tour, Jason said: “On my last tour, I brought back prop comedy and the audiences couldn’t stop laughing. So I thought, why not create an entire show full of props? It’s going to be very silly and absolutely trouser wettingly funny.”

It’s been a busy few years for Jason - in addition to his extensive touring worldwide, his Radio 2 Show was awarded the UK radio industry’s prestigious Sony Radio Gold Award. As well as fronting a brand new studio-based comedy chat show, Jason Byrne's Snaptastic Show, for TV3 in Ireland, he is co-host of Sky’s hugely popular entertainment programme Wild Things on Sky1.

He can also be seen on Live at the Apollo, The Royal Variety Show, The John Bishop Show, and BBC1 sitcom Father Figure, of which he is the creator and star.

Jason Byrne is Propped Up comes to the Brewery on October 21, and tickets are available from the venue's box office .
