BARROW Raiders will be up against one of League One’s form teams when York City Knights head to Craven Park this Sunday.

As well as reaching the final of the iPro Sport Cup – where they will face Keighley – the Tykes have won four out of four in the league and lie fourth.

In contrast, Barrow have dropped to seventh place in the division following defeats to Doncaster and Rochdale.

Paul Crarey’s side will be desperate to get back to winning ways after slipping to a 21-18 reversal at Doncaster a fortnight ago and then losing their unbeaten home record with an 18-4 loss to leaders Rochdale on Sunday.

York were in free-scoring form in the second half of their iPro Sport Cup semi-final win over Gloucestershire All Golds at the weekend, turning a 22-10 half-time advantage into a 58-14 hammering.

Crarey knows his side will have to cut out the individual errors which cost them dear in their previous two games if they are to contain the dangerous City Knights attack.

But Crarey also knows Barrow can quickly regain ground at the top of the division due to the tightly-congested nature of the League One table.

“You can afford to lose two or three games and still be up there because teams at the top will beat each other,” said the Barrow coach following the Hornets setback.

“But we have got to start improving and cutting out our errors. We have to limit ourselves to six a game instead of 14 or 15.

“We have to think positive. I don’t think we played all that badly, it was all about small margins.”
