ORIGINAL artwork from one of the world's best known children's book is on show at the Beacon Museum in Whitehaven.
Looking Into Wonderland can be seen until April 2 and featured a collection of etched drawings from Sir John Tenniel.
He worked alongside author Lewis Carroll to produce 92 drawings for Alice's Adentures in Wonderland in 1865 and Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There in 1871.
Tenniel was an illustrator and cartoonist and lived from 1820 to 1914.
He was knighted in 1893. He was the principal political cartoonist for the Punch satirical magazine for more than 50 years.
Development manager at the Beacon Museum Alan Irwin said: "Whether you've read the book or not, you'll recognise the characters from Alice in Wonderland and here they are as they were very first conceived.
"What's more, we have an interactive play gallery that brings these drawings to life in a new way."
