Debbie Rainford and Mike Walker

DEBBIE Rainford, a laboratory technician at McBride, and Dalton cricketer Mike Walker, a BAE Systems planner, of Sedgefield Road, Barrow, married at Chequers Hotel, Dalton.

HOW THEY MET: The couple met at work.

PROPOSAL: The groom proposed after just five days.

VENUE: The ceremony and a reception for 90 guests were held at Chequers Hotel, Dalton.

THEME:Traditional.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: The bride wore a Ronald Joyce gown from Eternity by Nina, Barrow. All accessories were also Ronald Joyce and purchased from Nina who provided the wedding party with an amazing service on the morning of the wedding, by dressing and lacing the bride and bridesmaids into their dresses.

GROOMSMEN: Groomsmen were the couple’s nephew Mathew Jones and the bride’s son Ashley Rainford gave her away. The bride’s father fulfilled his duty as father-of-the-bride by making a speech. They wore suits by Peter Posh hired from Marrime in Kendal.

BRIDESMAIDS: Bridesmaids were the groom’s daughter Chloe Walker, the couple’s niece Sarah Jones and the bride’s best friend Liz Chapman. They wore dresses by Ebony Rose.

FLOWERS: The bride and bridesmaids carried bouquets of roses, supplied by Efflorescence, Barrow.

TRANSPORT: The bride stayed at Chequers the night before the wedding.

RECEPTION: A wedding breakfast for 90 guests followed by a classic buffet for 260 evening guests, also at Chequers.

FAVOURS: Lottery cards for the men and heart-shaped bath bombs in organza bags for the women and sweets for the children.

CAKE: A three-tier cake by the Cake Crusader, Barrow.

FIRST DANCE: Love you a little bit more, by JLS

ENTERTAINMENT: Guests were entertained by an Abba tribute band Fabbalicious from Manchester in the evening and local folk duet, Robbers Dog in the afternoon.

HONEYMOON: Mexico.
