AMANDA Brown, 25, a supermarket stock controller, and Robert Smalley, 20, a supermarket warehouse assistant, of Haverigg, married on July 23 this year
HOW THEY MET: The couple met through friends around four years ago.
PROPOSAL: The groom proposed on St Valentine’s Day last year, at Underwood House, Millom. He got down on one knee with the engagement ring to cheers from all the other diners. The couple returned to the Underwood for the wedding reception.
VENUE: Holy Trinity Church, Millom.
THEME: Pink.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An ivory Mori Lee wedding dress from Wedding Daze in Barrow. The strapless gown had a full skirt and train with jewel-encrusted organza ruffles.
She wore a tiara and a matching earrings and necklace set from Debenhams. Her something borrowed was her sister’s veil.
GROOMSMEN: The groom’s best friend, Ian Gibson, was best man and the ushers were the groom’s brother, John Howley, the bride’s brother, Brian Brown, and the bride’s nephew, Joseph Jopson.
The men wore black tail coats with ivory waistcoats and fuchsia pink ties, from Greenwoods.
BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s sister, Jill Jopson, was chief bridesmaid. She wore a strapless pink dress with bright pink gems on the bodice, from Wedding Daze. The bride’s daughter, five-year-old Caitlin Hogarth, was flower girl. She wore a pink and ivory dress with diamante detail on the skirt, from Wedding Daze.
FLOWERS: The bride carried a bouquet of pink orchids and pink roses, from Dodd’s Designer Florist in Ulverston. The bridesmaid and flower girl carried posies of roses and the bride’s mother carried a posy of Singapore orchids and roses, all from Dodd’s.
TRANSPORT: The bride’s parents hired a white Rolls Royce as a surprise for the couple, from Sheldon Ltd in Millom.
RECEPTION: A wedding breakfast for 50 guests at the Underwood, followed by a buffet for 130 guests in the evening.
TABLE SETTINGS: The bride decorated the tables with pink and ivory diamante, with centrepieces of goldfish in bowls, surrounded by orchids.
FAVOURS: Pink boxes containing scratch cards and wedding fortune cookies.
CAKE: A three-tier fruit cake, baked and decorated by Cathy Jopson. The cake was decorated in white icing with filigree detail and pink orchids made from icing sugar. The cake table was decorated in pink satin and fairy lights.
FIRST DANCE: The couple had their first dance to I’m Yours by Jason Mraz.
ENTERTAINMENT: A DJ, provided by the Underwood, and a magician.
HONEYMOON: Bodrum, Turkey.
