TOPPING BILL: Ulverston’s Stellar Caprice, from left Chris Butler, Ste Fletcher, James Anderson and Ben Kermode

THE Swan Inn celebrates Ulverston’s carnival day with a free show featuring some of Furness’ favourite live bands.

Hometown band Stellar Caprice top the bill, performing a set of driving psychedelic rock and grunge.

Arguably Ulverston’s most established rock band, they have been together since school, and earlier this year they released their debut EP, Carry On. Experimental outfit Runt Hörnet, who mix grunge and stoner metal to create an unusual mix of catchy yet riff-heavy rock, provide main support.

There’s a place in the line-up for instrumental outfit Cassie, and Barrow indie band Audio Conspiracy also make an appearance with an acoustic set to get things under way.

Music starts around 8.30pm.
