Cumbria police has appealed for information after the attempted theft of a mobility scooter in Barrow.
The incident happened on Wednesday, April 24 around 3pm at Piel View Grove and was reported to police a few hours later.
The victim's husband, who does not wished to be named, said: "Someone decided to steal my wife’s mobility scooter on Piel View Grove Barrow in the afternoon around 3pm-ish.
"Fortunately, a neighbour spotted him taking it and chased him down and got it back - he then ran off.
"My wife has told me since that the scooter keeps stopping and starting since it was stolen, so it would appear that it has been damaged.
"Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks to anyone in advance."
A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: "We received the report on 24 April at 6:30pm.
"Report of a mobility scooter being stolen outside victim’s house at Piel View Grove, Barrow
"The scooter was retrieved by member of the public
"CCTV still images of the suspect have been obtained and enquiries to identify the suspect are ongoing
"Anyone with any information is asked to report to police via www.cumbria.police.uk/report -it quoting log number 181 of 24 April 2024."
The Mail is awaiting further confirmation for the release of the CCTV images.
