A MAN has avoided an immediate prison sentence after stealing cash from another male.
William Hepworth robbed his victim of £50 on February 26 last year in Barrow, Preston Crown Court heard.
The 21-year-old, of no fixed abode, was sentenced by Recorder Imran Shafi KC at The Sessions House on April 24 for one count of robbery, contrary to section 8(1) of the Theft Act 1968.
Recorder Shafi KC imposed a two-year suspended sentence for two years with requirements for Hepworth to complete 200 hours of unpaid work and 14 rehabilitation requirement days.
He was also ordered to pay £500 in compensation to the victim.
